Like the gently rising gusts of a windstorm, The Voices of Creation have been a quietly powerful surge of light and love in today’s musical landscape. Founded by Jimetta Rose and organist Jack Maeby in 2019, the soul and jazz choir have kept true to their intention of singing to heal themselves and others. Their dedication and hardwork have birthed a new wave of music, community, and expression that everyone wants to ride.

With their warm harmonies, bold choreography, and sincerity they have wowed audiences all across the world. From their stellar 2020 concert New Year's Eve at Grand Park with the amazing Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra all the way across the seas to Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here and Worldwide Sete Festivals, North Sea Jazz Fest, and even the illustrious Jazz Cafe The Voices of Creation have been tirelessly spreading their message of faith, love , and unity to bigger and more diverse audiences. The choir was featured in the PBS special “Artbound: The New West Coast Sound: An LA Jazz Legacy” as guests of drummer/bandleader Mekala Sessions of P.A.P.A performing a Jimetta Rose original,  “I Met a Mountain” and even got invited by the BBC to the legendary Maida Vale Studios for a live recording. Community remains a large part of their collective focus even as opportunities take them into new arenas; each week they still rehearse in Leimert Park California at LA Third Church where they sing once a month to cover their rehearsal costs and to uplift the community.

Their debut album “How Good It Is” recorded and executive produced by Mario C. was released on Daydreamer Records and Amor in Sound out of the UK in August 2022 and has continued to have a stellar reception. After touring Europe two summers in a row, Jimetta and the choir released their newest album “Things Are Getting Better” with DayDreamer Records in 2024. This album finds Rose and her musical partner Jack Maeby taking the reins on the production; with additional drum production by Allakoi Peete and Carlos Lasuncet. The unhindered joy, harmony, and community bursts out at the listener from the very first note. Standouts on the project include the title track “Things Are Getting Better",  “Everyday Blessings” with dynamic soloist Khalila G. Adelabu. “Surrender the Day” that features Kam Talbert on the soaring and powerful proclamation of trust and faith. This album includes brilliant musical guests such as Isaiah Collier, Ryan “Papa” Porter, V.C.R., and Danny Janklow. Things are indeed getting better and the future looks bright!
